Also, Also: I visited my optometrist again, today, to pick up contacts. Said I wasn’t headed to San Francisco just yet. He replied, “I’m glad, that town would’ve ruined you. You would’ve come back a diehard liberal.” I couldn’t even emit a non-committal, “Uh-huh.” He continued, “But maybe it’s too late.” To which I replied, “You could say that. My entire family has leaned toward the left for generations.” His response: “I’ll have to talk to your dad about that.” Ho-ho.
